Our Research Themes and Staff Lists
The Astrophysics research theme is active in several areas such as cosmology, formation of galaxies and extrasolar planets.
The Materials and Devices theme undertake research across all aspects of materials design, fabrication and characterisation across the length scales.
The Particle Physics theme is focussed using large experiments on understanding the fundamentals of matter and how they interact with each other.
The QET theme has a broad remit of accelerating application of quantum technologies, developing capabilities and exploring quantum information.
The QSM theme aims to find and understand the phenomena of quantum and classical matter, studying soft and solid materials.
The Theory theme are looking into the understanding of fundamental physics and adapting these to other areas of research within the School.
Our Education Group is made up of several PW3 staff whose main focus is on delivering the teaching to the students at the University on our programmes.
We are privileged to have a range of Emeritus Professors within the School, as well as a group of honorary and visiting staff.
We have a range of professional services staff who help with the day-to-day running of the School, both from admin to laboratory management.
